Most Worshipful Grand Master of the Most Worshipful Grand Lodge of Free & Accepted Masons of Utah 2012

Brother Baker was born in 1955 on Saint John the Baptist Day in Salt Lake City, Utah; the Son of Billy Floyd and Janet Kerby Baker. He spent his formative years growing up in Murray, Utah along with his two sisters. Brother Baker attended public schools in Salt Lake City and graduated in 1973 from Carbon High School in Price, Utah. He also attended the University of Utah and Utah Technical College – now Salt Lake Community College where he graduated and is currently employed for the past seventeen years as a Project Manager for Facilities Services overseeing capital improvement projects, building construction, renovation and remodel services for the Institution. He is a graduate from the Institute for Facilities Management for the Association of Higher Education Facilities Officers and a member of the Project Management Institute. He was previously employed for eleven years with a civil engineering firm as a technical illustrator, cartographer, land surveying and department supervisor and DOD contract special security officer for U. S. Government contracts. He was also employed for seven years with an electrical contractor as a project foreman in industrial controls and construction. He is a licensed journeyman electrician and an Eagle Scout.

Brother Baker received the three degrees of Freemasonry in 1999, in Twin Peaks Lodge #32, F. & A. M. of Utah, where he served as Worshipful Master in 2004. He was appointed to the Most Worshipful Grand Lodge of F. & A. M. of Utah in 2004 by Most Worshipful Brother Steven D. Lancaster. He is a member of the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite, coroneted a 33º Inspector General Honorary in October 2007; member of Utah York Rite and Appending Orders, K.Y.C.H.; Red Cross of Constantine, National Sojourners, a Noble of El Kalah Shrine Temple, A. A. O. N. M. S. and serves on the board of the Salt Lake Masonic Temple Association for Utah No. 1 York Rite.

Brother Baker resides in Sandy, Utah with his wife Carole and their Standard Poodle, Sergeant Pepper. When time permits; he enjoys traveling, art, photography, writing and outdoor sports such as golf, fishing and target shooting.
